LCWC #19

Here's Jen's LCWC #19 for this week...I was making a card for someone any way so I decided to make the card and do the challenge at the same time. here's the layout from Teri at Big Ideas from a little girl...

here's what I came up with...I used the Verve stamp set: Hello Pumpkin...perfect for Thanksgiving! I used the stylized flower cuttlebug folder, some glass dew drops called sunflowers, ribbon & I used the 5 petal flower punch from SU to make my ornament =) I embossed that too. Used a clear stamp set for the sentiment, bling and used some stickles.

hope everyone is having a wonderful Thanksgiving. I have so much to be thankful for...my family...my precious daughter and my cutie pie doggie...all my wonderful friends and co-workers and for being blessed every day by all of you! May God bless you today and everyday. Happy Thanksgiving everyone...gobble...gobble!

update: Joy at Tamikos

Tilda gift bag...

Since I received a cute little gift bag from Enjoli, I decided to make my own. I just bought a Tilda stamp from Jen at Pieces of me. I am really starting to like these...she turned out cute!
I used chipboard for the top notes for the outside of the gift bag. Used DP from the fairest of them all, I used jumbo eyelets, ribbon and punches to make the sentiment. I used my own sizing for the bag on the inside and stickles on Tilda.
here she is up close. I had so much fun making this!
this little gift bag came out to be so cute!

Favors for my soccer team...

This Sunday will be our last game for my women's soccer team. We are going to potluck and hang out after the game. So I thought why not make some favors for the girls on my team because I love this little gift bag so much! I had to make 20 of them and I plan to make many more to give as gifts...
I love the graphics from little dreamer designs by Nancy Kubo.

this one I used the cute little penguin...
here I used the santa, the penguin and the snowman...
I got to use garden green, kiwi kiss, red riding hood, chocolate chip and real red cardstock. I used my little bags for the inside and the ribbon (pure poppy & ripe avocado) is from Paper Trey Ink. I used stickles on each graphic design and stamped the sentiment from the all holidays stamp set. I sponged the edges to give it a finished look and there you have it. I will be putting candies from the See's Candy store. I still need to go pick that up.

hope you have a great Friday...yay!

oh, btw...Enjoli-Stamping under the sun is having her 200th post blog candy give away! you need to go and check her out...she comes up with the greatest ideas and wonderful creations. she is also the sweetest and most generous friend. I am so blessed to have her in my life!

Hello Kitty, Soccer ball & Cupcake Tree...

These pictures don't do justice to what the actual tree looks like. this is my special tree for my BFF. I know that her favorite colors are pink and brown, she loves hello kitty, loves playing soccer and loves cupcakes as well. so I thought why not combine them all and put them on a tree. I spent a lot of time on this tree. lots of love went into making it just right. I wanted the tree to be full of everything Michelle loves!
I used actual hello kitty ornaments sold at Ben Franklin, but I also used hello kitty erasers, hello kitty toppers off of candy, a hello kitty magnet for the top of the tree and can you see those tiny purses? those tiny erasers came in them.
I got a soccer ball from Frieda, my boss, but I loved them so much, I had to go buy more at Flora Dec and add a couple more soccer balls to the tree. I also used soccer ball erasers, cupcake decor. as well as cupcake erasers as well. I used brown and pink ribbon, white branch fillers to make the tree look much fuller, pink and silver ball ornaments and silver and pink berry bunches. In the picture it looks a little messy, but in reality, I think it came out pretty sweet! I hope you all enjoyed my tree decorations. I don't think I'll be taking up this craft any time soon. I love making them, but they do take up precious time and lots of money...and you know if I can spend it on more crafts supplies?!...need I say more?!
Have a great Thursday everyone!

cute holiday gift bag...

I love this project.
...it's called the holiday gift bag...I was visiting blogs as usual and I came across this tutorial on the holiday gift bag at chic n' scratch. I fell in love with this cute thing! I just had to make it and was dying to try it out. so I realized that you had to buy the kraft bags to make the little bag on the inside. so I went to check it out and only one place sold it, but the shipping was 5x as much as the item! I said, okay, what can I do...so I took the directions from the one sheet box, but made my own measurements to match the bag perfectly. I gotta say that it took me a couple hours before I figured it out. I am amazed at all of you who just come up with things and whip it up. So here I go with my directions for this bag.
1) 1 piece of paper (printer paper) and cut it to
measure 7 1/2" x 7 1/2".
so which ever way you decide to make one the
width and the other the height, you need to score it this way...
2) score - width 2" and 5 1/2"...
3) score - height 2 3/4" and 4 3/4"...
4) crease all scored lines. just like the one sheet box,
you are going to fold to create a diagonal crease on all corners.
5) tape the edges down and you are done with your bag.
this is what the bag looks like once you are done with it. then you take your 2 pieces of top notes die cuts and tape one down to the front and then punch your oval handles out. then you can stick your other side down and measure it and punch the other oval handle out. if you try to do them all together it will be too tough to punch. you can also sponge the edges if you like. I did and it gives a more finished look. I added grosgrain ribbon to finish it off.
here's a side view of what the little holiday gift bag looks like. I had so much fun making this!
looking from the top down...just to give you a different view of the same cute little bag.
here's the other side view. you can see the bag I made inside.
here's my santa upclose. I wanted to show you that he has dazzling diamonds for the trim of his hat & the ball at the end of his hat and the trims of his coat. I used red and black stickles to make santa stand out more. The santa is from little dreamer designs by Nancy Kubo called happy holiday graphics. I love these designs...Thanks so much Jen from Pieces of me!!

thank you for stopping by today...I can't believe it's Wednesday already...we are half way there!

Sympathy cards...

it was definitely a sad night tonight...I had to go to a long time friend's mother's funeral. It was a nice funeral at Makiki Christian Church. the best part of it all was that it was a "Christian" funeral where we all know that she's went home to be with the Lord and that one day we will see her again. so, anyhoo...I created two cards...one for my mom and one for me.
the blue card was created with the upsy daisy stamp set.
the pink card used the eastern bloom set.

here you can see the bling in the middle of the flowers...
upclose:
I used the stylized flower cuttlebug embossing folder...for the background and for the circle punch. I used the giga and mega punches to create it. used the dazzling diamonds on the flowers and stamped it with the saying: with deepest sympathy.

Here's the card from a distance. I hope you all had a good Monday...
I hope you have a better Tuesday!

Anything but a card...

My new boss at work is into making beautiful trees. She chooses her colors and decorates them to her liking. Well she got me suckered into trying to make my own. so here's what I came up with for my daughter's 3rd grade teacher for Christmas this year. I know she loves pink, so I decided to make a pink and gold tree. I couldn't find too many pink decorations, so this is what I came up with. I have apples...an apple a day, keeps the ___ away?! I found presents, golden pears, some gold and pink ball ornaments and all other goodies that I could find to make the tree full! I used the mega scallop circle and the jumbo circle punch to make the topper of the tree. I printed out what I wanted it to say and there it is! I tried my best. This is truly harder than it looks and it can be very costly. thank goodness this one wasn't. Everything on this tree came in bunches and it was so cheap...at Ben Franklin. So tell me what you think...please. Have a great Monday everyone! it's only the start of the week!

oh btw...if you check out this link...Lacey-Handstamped by Lacey is having a blog candy give away for her birthday! Happy Birthday Lacey!

also...Rina-heartful stamping is having a blog candy giveaway for hitting the 1,000 mark for people checking out her blog. isn't that fabulous! go and check her out and win lots of loot!

Birthday Card for Roland...

Roland was my boss at my other job and it was his birthday, so I thought I'd send him a birthday card to let him know that we were thinking of him. We added a Starbucks gift card because we know he loves coffee...anyhoo...here's what I came up with. I used this great stamp set called upsy daisy. I embossed the background with stylized flowers from cuttlebug. I used real red & chocolate chip cardstock because that's Roland's favorite colors. I added some brown bling and dazzling diamonds...finished it with grosgrain ribbon and there you have it! I like how simple it is, but it turned out so nice =) what do you think?

hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.
it's Sunday...we have to go back to where tomorrow??

Rub Ons for Tins...

I love rub-ons...and I learned that you can put them almost anywhere...I have used them on frames, paper, acetate and tins! I love decorating tins! These were the tins that were bought a little while ago with some co-workers and friends. I am truly enjoying these to give as gifts. The window tins give you the opportunity to really make them pretty. I used the line from the fairest of them all-"we're off to the ball" rub-ons and also the eastern elegance from SU...btw, they are all on sale right now. if you can find a stampin' up demonstrator...(like Michelle or Enjoli) you can order it through them!

I really enjoyed making this. I think it came out so cute and danity. I love it.
hope everyone is having a great weekend. be safe but have fun =)

Diaper Fold Pouch...

I found a tutorial for the diaper fold pouch on split coast stampers today and I wanted to try make it and give them as gifts. If you want to see the tutorial...you can find it here. This pouch uses 1 - 12 x 12 designer paper. You fold it diagonally in half (so it looks like a triangle), then take the corner and cross it over the middle and then do it for the other corner. then you fold one layer from the top triangle down and you are done! You can fill it with whatever will fit. The pouch doesn't open too big, but it will fit a few cute things to give as a gift.
I tried to make different sizes...this one is made with 8 x 8 designer paper
this one I tried it with 6 x 6 designer paper...
you can decorate with whatever you choose...I decided to use the hello kitty because everyone seems to like her and the smallest diaper pouch I used the snowman from little dreamer designs by Nancy Kubo. If you want to see what they have to offer, you can click here and it will take you right to their website. all you have to do is purchase the ones you like, pay, once they send you an email confirmation you can go back in and download the graphics. I think it's better that you save it on your hard drive and then you can have access to it whenever you want to use them.

thanks for stopping by today!
thank goodness it's FRIDAY!!
have a great weekend and take care!

Vertical gift card holder...

So I was looking around to find different gift card holders...and look no further...I found one on Teri's blog...Big ideas from a little girl. I was so excited to try it...so I did. the original was turned into a vertical gift card holder. She got her measurements from another place on split coast stampers. I was so lucky to receive some graphic designs...from little dreamer designs by Nancy Kubo. here I used the cute little penguin for the front of the card. I embossed it with the Christmas Ornaments from cuttlebug. I used all different sizes for the punches, used the white gel pen and used ribbon I found at ben franklin...don't forget the dazzling diamonds!

here's what it looks like on the inside...I used the holiday paper graphics from little dreamer designs by Nancy Kubo...I cut out a separate piece for the middle and stamped it.
here's a top view of what it looks like. I wanted to give you a different view of what it actually looks like. I hope you liked it. I did have lots of fun making it. I am feeling the spirit of Christmas...it will be a good one this year...I can just feel it! as always...thanks for stopping by!
