Happy Furlough Friday...

HAPPY FURLOUGH FRIDAY!!! for some of you...who do have children or work for the State of Hawaii...we have started day offs on Fridays. For some of you that's good and for others its time to do some penny pinching =) I don't have any crafts to share with you today...but...I wanted to share with you my daughter's S.A.D. performance last night...here she is at the end of the night sitting down.
here is their group shot at the end of the night...don't they all look so awesome in costume!
here's Mr J.P., Taelyn's S.A.D. director of the whole show...
what a lovely surprise for Taelyn...she had an audience to perform for! Thank you so much Teri and Nolan for coming to support and encourage Taelyn and me!!! It was so very thoughtful and sweet of you to take time out to come and watch the show!
here's me with my "star"...zombie! their grand finale was THRILLER from Michael Jackson! they worked so hard on all their lines and dance moves! I had a blast!
Happy Friday everyone!

Spooktacular boxes...

here are the last of my boxes...I took this idea from my dgf Teri! she has some awesome creations and I fell in love with this one...so much so that I did make 40 of these! these ones went to the sheriff's at my work. They are an important part of my work life...I see them every day...so how could I forget them! I decided for these last ones to use TGF spooktacular set. I borrowed this from Teri too =) I colored them with my copics and added some crystal effects. do you remember this song..."which one of these doesn't belong here...which one just isn't the same?" hahaha...brings me back to my childhood days!
I used only three different spooktacular images...but I only made one of the girl. the sheriff's only have one lady in their crew...at least downstairs of the Judiciary. so I had to make sure she had one decorated just for her. here they are up close...
Happy Thursday! I am so proud to announce that my daughter will be in her first "SAD" (singing, acting and dancing) class and she will perform tonight, Oct 29th at Kaneohe Elementary Cafeteria at 6:30 pm. If you are in the area and want to come join us...please do so! Taelyn would be so happy =)

Witch Emma bags...

Hello Everyone! Happy Hump Day to you all! this week is going by really fast as I am not fully done with all my Halloween creations! I do have something to share with you though. A little while back we had a gathering of ladies to share ideas and Michelle...my BFF made these cute little bags! thanks Michelle for the idea! I decided to make this for my co-workers. I used the Witch Emma from CC designs. my friend (Glenn) suggested that I color her and scan her on to my computer and then print her out. so I tried that and it worked! I could make her smaller to fit on the bag and I didn't have to color them all =) I stuffed them with candies! hope they all like it! I actually enjoyed making these...so glad I started early!
here's what one individual box bag looked like...I used my oval nesties...used my border punch, some eyelets and ribbon for the handles. It's not as detailed as Michelle's....but I'm happy with it =)
got all the DP from J's and Cute Stuff. I am almost done with Halloween. I need to still make for my daughter's teachers and her classmates! wish me well as I only have tonight to make it...they started their furlough Fridays and my mom leaves for Japan tomorrow...so we will be getting up super early to take her to the airport!

Whimsie Doodles...HOPE

Hey everyone...did you know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month? Well if you go to Whimsie Doodles...they have created a new digi and sentiment just for this. Her name is "Hope" and if you download her...the funds are going to a good cause. there is also a sketch challenge on paper craft planet...as you can see I didn't do the challenge, but I had to use her on something. So a while back Teri and I got together and we figured out how to make this holder. I don't know what this holder is called, but I did enjoy making it. here I decorated the outside with "Hope". Isn't she just great?! I colored her with my copics...added some dazzling diamonds, popped her bandana and added her to the front of my creation.
here's what it looks like when you open it up...I added the sentiment inside. I used my craft velcro dot to hold it close. you can purchase those velcro dots at Wal-Mart...they are pretty cheap =) I used my DP that I bought from Tamikos =)
here is what the pouch looks like...you can add something thin inside...as for this one I put in a GF stamp...it fits perfectly!
happy Monday everyone! it's a start of a new week, but the ending of a month. Halloween is almost here and we are getting close to the end of 2009. Thanksgiving is coming up next...have you thought of what you should be thankful for? I am thankful to all of you who come to visit and leave me such encouraging comments...I am blessed and thank you.

I wanted to make a thank you card to her for blessing me with this cute, adorable stamp! here's her banner and link to her store...go and support this wonderful lady!

so here's my actual card...I made it quite simple...just ticket cornered the corners and added some pink bling...colored them with my copics and added my thank you sentiment.

wishing everyone a wonderful and glorious weekend! make sure it's filled with lots of fun, laughter and happiness...tell everyone you love them...hug them like you haven't seen them in a while and live life like its your last because you never know!

Swiss Pixies Pippi box...

So if everyone has been to Teri's...Big Ideas from a Little Girl...blog, you will see that she did a "spider box" tutorial...if you haven't, you should go and check her blog out...she does have some fantastic ideas! I decided to CASE her idea and make some for some family and friends. but I decided to use the Pippi...Pixie Pumpkin from CC designs to be the image on my box. I colored each and every one with my copics...which I ended up making 40 of them! this set is for my mom to give to her mini church gang and friends. this was really fun and easy to make...and it holds lots of candy =) thank you Teri for this wonderful creation!here's a picture of the box and image up close...I used crystal effects on the orange and used dazzling diamonds on her wings.
here's what it looks like once the flap is opened...I used the sentiment & spider stamps I bought at Fishers w/ Teri the other day...I opened the drawer too...I filled it with candies!
yay...we made it to Thursday...the week is almost over! have a FABULOUS day! thanks for your sweet comments and for visiting...it really does mean a lot to me =)

Spooktacular Waterfall...

Last week...Linda, Kyoko, Janis, Teri and I got together for lunch to just chit chat and have a few good laughs...as we did!!! haven't laughed like that in a long time...my face and tummy hurt! but any whoo Teri surprised us with a make 'n take...a waterfall card. I really did like it from before but never made one...so I finally did. So I decided to borrow Teri's spooktacular stamp set from TGF and I made my own waterfall card...this is made for my OCS partner this month.here is the first flip...
the second flip...
the last flip...with the sentiments...
I still have to put the finishing touches on this card...but I wanted to show what I did...I am still creating more stuff for Halloween...I hope this will end soon and that everyone will appreciate what I make. have a wonderful day =)

Wags 'n Whiskers...

Good Morning...Happy Monday to everyone =) I hope everyone had a beautiful weekend! I sure did...no soccer and I did a lot of cleaning...oh boy...but I did some crafting as well...If you haven't seen the banner on my sidebar...here it is...Lacey Stephens and Nikki Fairbairn's new blog and store called: Wags 'n Whiskers...
so as it goes...I tried out for their DT...I didn't make it, but Lacey was so sweet to give me one of their exclusive digis to play with...so I chose their banner image. I wanted to create a card for their blog...so here's what I came up with. I just bought this new nesties...it worked out well. I saw a layout to follow and this is how it turned out. hope it's suitable for them and that I didn't put them to shame. I didn't realize how hard it was to color them to my liking!
here is an up close shot of the image...I colored them with my copics, added some crystal effects and for the first time tried the fun flock (pink) on the feather. I had to add my prima flowers and some dew drops =)
thanks for stopping by today...
I will be posting a few more Halloween stuff this week!
Live your day to the fullest...and be happy!

Spooktacular shaker...

I was supposed to help Janis out with the checkbook make n take at our get together on Saturday, but with all that was going on, it got to be a little too much to do...so I took mine home to finish. I did make some simple ones for Teri and Linda and I cut the paper for Jodi...if you are planning to make one...it's so easy...just cut your CS to 6 1/4" x 6 3/4"...don't forget to use your corner rounder for all four corners...that will be your base of your checkbook cover. then you can decorate it any way you want. I love to make shakers and because it was supposed to be a Halloween party...I made mine to fit the theme. I had to cut them out because I stamped them a little to far apart from each other. here's what it looks like! I borrowed Kyoko's GF stamps...spooktacular...colored them with Janis's copics and then took it home to add the beads and make the shaker window. I added PTI ribbon to finish it off. this one turned out a little simple but I liked it...I gave this one to Michelle since I know she loves Halloween so much =)here's my shaker window up close...I think these GF stamps are darling! they really have such cute faces! you can see I added three different kinds of beads to this one. I used my coluzzle to make the opening of the window.
have a spooktacular Wednesday...muuaahaha!

added some goodies inside for some friends...
thanks for stopping by!

Pixie Pumpkin...one tin holder...

Okay...for those ladies who are waiting for my tutorial...here it is. I wanted to hurry up so that you could make them for your Halloween treats if you chose to =) I hope it's not too complicated for you to understand...here we go...
one piece of CS 2 1/2" x 9 3/4"
score: 1 1/4", 2", 4 1/4", 5 1/2", 7 3/4" and 8 1/2"
you can decorate it with whatever image and DP you got...I used the Pixie Pumpkin from CC designs...it's a digi so that I could make it smaller for this box. same DP from Cute Stuff.
the band on the inside to hold the tin in... 1 1/2" x 5 1/4"
score: 3/8", 1 1/2", 3 3/4" and 4 7/8"
(3/8" - the line before the half line)
(4 7/8" - the line before the whole line 5")
**this is based on a ruler with no 16th lines**
hope you can understand that...
I used the small oval punch from SU for the handles. make sure you punch the handles in before you add your tins...otherwise you can't do it.
I just added a sentiment on the inside.
I colored my image with my copics...if you see I tried to do the yellow hair...hehehe. I added dazzling diamonds to her wings and then closed the box with PTI ribbon.
now go out and create your own!
if you are wondering where I got my tins from...here's the link...beau-coup or you can try go to paper mart...you may want to put an order in with friends as it gets cheaper the more you buy.
have a wonderful Monday!

I had a wonderful time...eating...shopping...talking...eating...doing make n takes...eating!!! see the trend?! I made something very simple for 10 lovely ladies...I found a die cut box and so I cut it out and made my own handle...colored my own image and that was it!
here's the box I made up close...found the wonderful Halloween colored DP at Cute Stuff. I used that for all my creations =) the image is from Janis's stash...thanks!

Happy Birthday Stephen...

sorry gang...short post today...Happy Friday! Oct 10th was Stephen Huynh's birthday...he's a sherriff @ the first circuit court...so we decided to throw him an ice cream party today! I was the one in charge of the card...I was thinking of sherriff Ian, but he's nothing like a cowboy, so I decided to use sk8er Ian instead...used CS from SU...distressed the edges, added a happy birthday sentiment w/ brads and used my two different size star punches...colored him with my copics and I'm all done!here's an up close picture of him...
Will be back next week with more Halloween stuff to share. I have a get together this weekend with some of the girls and I'll post the items I made for them.
be safe but have a FABULOUS weekend!

Thank you goodie bags...

one of my co-workers asked me to make 4 little goodie bags for some ladies that really helped her out. so I said I could do that...here's what I came up with. I used my label one nesties and used my new cuttlebug embossing folder to make the outside of the bag. then I cut a piece of kraft CS by SU to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"...scored @ 2 1/4" then flip and score the other side with the 5 1/2" on the top. then score 1" on each side of the 4 1/4" sides on top. I added a butterfly punch and the thank you sentiment to the front of the bag. I used ribbon from SU too.
here's an up close view of one of the bags I made...

this is what it looks like from the top...it's filled with see's candy...I hope the ladies will enjoy this. something small for my co-worker to share. I whipped this up by late last night and did some cards early this morning...but I didn't have time to take a picture of them.

so glad it's almost the end of the week! I finally got myself back into the swing of things! hopefully I can keep this up! have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by! ~keep smiling =)~

Lokalia's 1st birthday...

this past Sunday was a filled day from the early morning 6:30 am to late into the night 8:30 pm. first thing Taelyn had a soccer game at 8 am...they won 8-0! then we had a 1st birthday party to go to from 10-2 pm and I had a game at 3 pm...we won 5-1...we stayed after to bbq and watch the UH wahine play...which they lost 1-0 to Fresno. okay...well on to my card! My ggf Jacque had her baby (Lokalia) birthday party in Mililani. her theme was Hello Kitty...and I have lots of dies to choose from. so I decided to use my HK face sizzix die. I used my cupcake DP and used my rub-ons for the sentiment. I hope she likes her card!
here's a picture of me and Jacs...Taelyn took the picture of us. it was so good to see her again! Jacs and I go way back since high school.
here's a picture of Jacs, her daughter Loke and Taelyn...
if you look behind them...you can see a photo place set up. Every family got to take a professional photo taken and it was printed right there. I think that is a great idea to have at a party! everyone gets to take home something so special! thanks Jacque!
what a fun filled Sunday we had! I enjoyed myself and the day was a total success! I got to play soccer and hang out with friends after. It was truly memorable and a unforgetable day!
~make every day a memorable one~

Hello-kitty-ween....

I wanted to make a Hello Kitty Halloween treat...as mostly everyone loves her! I was at work last week and wanted to think of how to make a hat for HK. so I drew some and this is what I came up with. I tried to make it look like a witch's hat and added to her head. I colored it with my copics. I used dazzling diamonds on her outfit. I then had to figure out how to make a box big enough to fit the HK on the outside. I have the curved rectangles nesties and used the 2nd to the last biggest one. the HK fit perfectly!
here's what it looks like on the inside...I used my black CS to make the box on the inside. it's a 7" x 11"...score at 2" with the 7" on top...then score at 4 1/2" and 6 1/2" on the 11" side. cut the 4 1/2" and 6 1/2" score lines up to the 2" score line. tape together and you have your box. add the nesties you cut out add your ribbon handle and you are done!
happy Tuesday everyone!
thanks for stopping by!
take a chance...you may never know what can happen!

My first Halloween creation...

if you went to Mushi's Creative Inspirations...you may have seen her two tin creation! I loved it so much and so I decided to make one like her...but I used only one tin for this. I might have to change the measurements...so I won't post that yet until I have it just right! but I used the CC designs - pixie pumpkin to decorate the outside of this box. used DP that I got at Cute Stuff and used my marvy uchida punches. I tied it closed with PTI ribbon...and there you have it!
here's what it looks like on the inside. I made my band right around the tin only. I gave this to Enjoli. She came this weekend to Teri's class. It was so good to see her! she gave my daughter one of her famous note books and cookies! My daughter takes it everywhere and draws in it and the cookies...well they were yummy! sorry that's why I have no pictures to post.
hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!
I had a blast!
remember to love each other!
