Mini scrapbook thank you...

I have a wonderful challenge coming up this weekend...and with that I got this fabulous idea on what to do for my daughter's thank you cards. I am so sorry that I am sending them out so late, but I really wanted to make them special. so on to my project! I developed pictures to give to Taelyn's friends that came to the party...and then came up with this fun mini layout of 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scrapbook page. Aren't they the cutest! I love this picture...so for each of her classmates I made this for them. I added flowers...what's a creation without flowers?? lol! I also added ribbon & bling for the girls. Taelyn wrote her thank you notes on that journaling piece w/ heart tab. I am very pleased with how this turned out!
here's another one...I have this cool program that can change my pictures around...it's called "gimp" and so with that I made the picture black and white w/ a tinge of color and faded the edges. doesn't this picture look like it's an antique? like back in the old western days or something. I love how this turned out. then I added my lovely crocheted lace & mini roses.
here's the ones I made for the boys...as there were only two of them. no flowers here and I just added some dew drops.
I hope you have a wonderful Thursday...it's ANOTHER furlough Friday for me. have a good one and as always I am so grateful for your comments and encouraging words. I really do appreciate it. till next time: Live and work, but do not forget to play, to have FUN in life and really enjoy it! ~Eileen Caddy

My mother's day gift...2010

Last month...at Teri's class we learned how to make this purse that can carry cards. It looked really hard...but when you actually put it together, it was pretty easy. I was determined to make another one for my mom...but when it was time to get down to it, I couldn't find the instructions! *panic* what to do...then I took the purse that I made at Teri's and started measuring. here's what mine came to be. I altered mine a bit...I made a closed pocket in the front, of course added my flowers and love that crocheted lace. I added that pearl brad and a computer generated sentiment.
once you open it up...it has two pockets where you can add your cards. I decided to make a few for my mom, so that she doesn't have to ask me every time...now she can have a stash =)
here's my first card...I used Izzy from TGF...she's too cute! can't finish the card without my signature...flowers and I also added bling and stickles. I used my cuttlebug embossing folder to do the backgrounds.
here's my second card...I used Madelynn for this one. I am loving all different colors of crocheted lace, this one I added flowers, pearl bling, MS border daisy fan punch and stickles.
here I wanted to make my cards a little more simple...had to add those cute mini prima roses, used SU sentiments and there you go!
I am so glad that my mom loved her gift. I know that it's the thought that counts but I made sure I added some gift cards in the front pocket =)
we are half way through the week! can't wait for another weekend!

"Audrella"

Hello! It's Tuesday and I have a short post for you. I created a card for my mom for mother's day, and since I saw Donna's altered Audrey, I knew I wanted to create one too! So I created this cutie by using Audrey's head and Fleur Anya's body. growing up I was a tomboy and still am today...but sometimes it's fun to wear a dress. So I named her: "Audrella"...She's Audrey and Cinderella put into one! lol!
here is my card...I used MME DP, my altered GF, crocheted ribbon, a mini prima rose and bling. I hope my mom likes this. It can remind her of me...when I was little, but also Taelyn, my daughter as she is just the same. I think most of us have a little tomboy in them...don't ya think?
have a wonderful day...thank you for stopping by. tomorrow I will share with you my whole gift that I made for my dear mom.

I love that she also made it into an easel card too! she used the cute bugaboo image. sorry you can only see the three drawers...the other one is right behind the easel. Thank you so much Mama for this lovely creation! I am so blessed! I have it sitting on my drawer so I can look at it! actually I have all your creations around my craft area so I can be motivated to create =)
this next one was a shocker...I was so blessed to receive my bff's birdhouse! isn't this fantastic?! I can't even imagine trying to make one of these. it's so much more prettier IRL! but this is the front view of it...
here's the side view of the birdhouse. love the butterfly and the amazing roof! thank you Michelle for my lovely birdhouse. I have it hanging right where I craft so I can be inspired!

Mother's Day purses...

After learning the larger version of these purses from 1LuvnMama...I decided to make a few smaller ones. I knew this would be a perfect gift to give for mother's day. I was so excited and made these for my co-workers who are moms too. I love adding those different trellis roses from the Stamp and Create store on each purse and the sentiment was computer generated. all the ribbon are from PTI. just love those saddle stitched ribbons.
here is one up close. I filled it with goodies that they can enjoy! I added that large star spacer with the gypso flower in the middle.
here's a purse I made with the pretty colors of pink and brown...isn't that monkey cute? I got her at Sanrio @ the Windward Mall. she really adds to my purse!
here's the purse without the monkey. I really did enjoy myself and loved making these simple purses. this is a 9" x 9" purse. hope you can make one!

Tri-fold Fleur Anya...

Happy Saturday everyone! I usually don't post on the weekend...but there is a new release going on at TGF! Introducing Fleur Anya...if you would like to purchase her Tamiko's is selling this cute rubber stamp. So don't hesitate...go and get one now! Here's my take on this cutie! I wanted to make her the "aloha" girl. She really does represent Hawaii and so I wanted to use the different cheerful colors that we do see every day...here in beautiful Oahu. I also wanted to try this awesome tri-fold card...I received one from Tammi @ Tropical Dreams and had to CASE it. I know mine didn't come even close to Tammi's but I had fun making this. Here she is dangling from the front of the card and I made her with black hair! I also paper pieced her dress and you know me...had to use those pretty flowers!
here's the front cover opened up. I made it into a pocket with a sentiment "Aloha from Hawaii" as I thought this was perfect. added more flowers and bling.
this is what it looks like when all the flaps are opened up. I created another pocket in the middle and added a tag with another sentiment. there is another fleur anya. she is now an ehu (reddish brown) haired girl! I think these two represent a lot of "local" girls here in Hawaii. of course more flowers and more bling! I left the right flap open, to write your own message if you are sending it to someone.
this is the middle flap up close. isn't she just the cutest thing! I had so much fun making this card! lots of work, but well worth it and it's so easy to make...this one is CS 5 1/2" x 12", then score @ 4" and 8". decorate to your liking. I used two different DPs.
May you enjoy your weekend!
A - always smile...
L - love one another
O - open your heart...
H - hugs from me to you
A - and spread the "aloha"
