backpack creation...

So this Maui trip...I went up there to play soccer but in the process I got in touch with a blogging sister...Kris...K-Lusive Kreations...and we planned to get together on Sunday. So of course I didn't want to go there empty handed! So I wanted to give her a few things...but didn't want to put it in a folder...so I decided to make a box...which then turned into a backpack! I was so excited! my original design is so much easier than the others you may see. here are the directions...CS - 1 piece of 6" x 11"...score @ 5" and 6"...the 11" side on the top. then score 1" on the 6" side and flip and score the other side @ 1". for the cover...DP 4" x 8"...score it @ 5" and 6" and corner round the short side for the flap. I used the scallop envelope die from SU for the front pocket. I added some buttons to make the backpack look finished.
here is what it looks like once it's opened...I used a craft velcro dot to keep the flap closed. filled it with some goodies and stamped images...I hope Kris liked it!
here's what the back looks like...I used the jumbo eyelets and I just eyeballed where to put it. I used some PTI ribbon...tied knots at the end...on the inside...make sure when doing this...you haven't put your box together yet...punch the holes, insert the brads and tie the ribbon first before putting your backpack together.
simple yah?!
have a wonderful Tuesday...
I am home recovering from this brutal co-ed tournament...=)
