...SHIMMERZ...
Happy Memorial Day everyone! hope everyone who has the day off is enjoying it =) today I have to share with you the Product Spotlight of the week which is Shimmerz from Stamp and Create. Yes...it's extended for one more week...so if you were thinking...should I get some? now's your chance! so on to my creation...I made mini composition books for 3 little girls who will be moving away to Washington with their parents. I wanted to give them something small but something they could use on their trip there. I used TGF...Roll Call. Aren't they just adorable? I used the butter cream shimmerz on the flowers and the shimmer spritz on the images. colored them with my copics and just made these very simple.

Easel Shaker Drawer...

...EASEL SHAKER DRAWER...
I think this is my greatest creation yet! Once I figured out what I wanted to do...it was time to execute it and turn it into reality! It wasn't as easy as I thought, but it really was all worth the work. I am very pleased with how it turned out. I used the Sizzix XL box #3 die for the drawers and created my own bands to make the bottom drawers.
here's what it looks like when you open the easel card on the side! I can't express my abundant happiness of how this makes me feel! I just love it! used those American pearl brads for the knobs on the drawers and I used the pretty doodlebug DP.
here are the drawers filled with goodies!
this is the top of the box on the left side...gotta have those fabulous flowers...these were purchased at Wild Orchid Crafts. aren't they just beautiful! love that sentiment from MME too.
here's my easel shaker card...this is on the right side. I used my dahlia nesties for the window and frame...PTI ribbon...microbeads of all different colors (trying to match the DP)...printed my own sentiment and added some pink bling. The image is from CC designs, purchased at Stamp and Create. love this swiss pixie and I paper pieced her dress...colored her with my copics and voila! I am finally done =)
Happy...Happy Friday everyone! Enjoy your weekend...be safe. Here's a quote from: Mahatma Gandhi “My imperfections and failures are as much a blessing from God as my successes and my talents and I lay them both at his feet.”
Can I get an AMEN!!!

It's Thursday!

...Thursday...
(tried an up close picture to show the shimmer all over the image)
my niece graduated from the 6th grade and so I wanted to make her a card. This is another stamp I just received from Stamp and Create and was so happy that it made it in time for me to ink her up! I was debating on getting this one...but she really does grow on you. so I created this card in different shades of green...that's her favorite color...my niece has black hair and is pretty tomboy...just like Thursday! I used the out of the frame technique with my oval nesties, used the sentiment from Roll Call, added some crocheted lace, bling & mini prima flowers. You can get these all at S&C. I really like how this card turned out.

this is what the inside looks like...I took a shot at decorating it. Hope she likes this card =)Happy "Thursday" everyone...so glad to be here and to have met such wonderful bloggers like you! thank you for taking the time to leave me such encouraging comments! till then...

Swiss Pixie...

Do the humpty...hump...do the humpty...hump...lol!
well it's Wednesday and I have a short post to share with you. I had to rush to make some cute 3" x 8 1/2" cards...score @ 4 1/4"...to put in the teachers goodie bags. my daughter had already wrote in them...I was in charge to decorate the front! I fell asleep and so I had to get up early to finish these up! I just received this cute swiss pixie in the mail from Lacey...Stamp and Create. What perfect timing this was. I think this one is darling and I love that's she's lounging around. I added a mini rose in her hair...colored her with my copics, added dazzling diamonds to her wings and sprayed some shimmer mist all over her. can't really see it...but its there =)

Have a beautiful day...

Three Desk Drawer...

Happy Tuesday everyone...today is the last day of school for my daughter and every year I like to give something to the teachers to let them know how much I appreciate all they have done throughout the year. So with that...I'm on to my project. I wanted to give something that the teachers could use...at their desk or wherever. So I saw what 1LuvnMama made and really wanted to try it out. if you want to see her creation...click here. but when I found out how much paper and work it took...well, I decided to make only 3 drawers. I used the XL Sizzix box #3 die for this. I just had to create my own band around the bottom two to make it into drawers. bought some of those pearl brads from Stamp and Create and used them for my knobs on the drawers.
here's a shot from the top...I used 12 x 12 CS for the base and then used DP to decorate. I also just bought some very pretty flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. I am so hooked! I guess you can call me the "flower girl" too. I love to use flowers on everything...lol! I also added that butter cream shimmerz on the flowers. remember...Stamp and Create is having a 25% off sale for all different kinds of shimmerz. go check it out!!!
here's a picture of when everything is opened...filling them with some goodies to eat and some to use. I hope they enjoy this one.
thanks for stopping by! have a wonderful day and till then..."A memory lasts forever, never does it die. True friends stay together and never says good-bye"

Graduation Time...

...Mililani High School...
I didn't think I would be making any cards this year for graduation...but low and behold I have two kids that I know that are graduating this year! does that mean I am old or what? lol! I didn't have too much time to prepare as this one...who's graduated from Mililani High School... they graduated on Sunday...I only found out the day before...yikes! so I made a fast and simple card. thanks to Donna for showing us how to use nesties to make fast and cute cards! I just used a sentiment and added the tassel to give it the effect of "graduating".
here's the side view of what it looks like...
I also made a lei with the "nani" length. those of you who make these leis with a straw know what I am talking about. I used gold and brown...these are the colors of Mililani. it really turned out pretty nice. I better run out and go buy more gold. it really looks nice with other colors.
Happy Graduation...Congratulations to those who are or have children that are graduating! what a blessed moment for all of you...till tomorrow: “I hope your dreams take you... to the corners of your smiles, to the highest of your hopes, to the windows of your opportunities, and to the most special places your heart has ever known.”

Mini scrapbook thank you...

I have a wonderful challenge coming up this weekend...and with that I got this fabulous idea on what to do for my daughter's thank you cards. I am so sorry that I am sending them out so late, but I really wanted to make them special. so on to my project! I developed pictures to give to Taelyn's friends that came to the party...and then came up with this fun mini layout of 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scrapbook page. Aren't they the cutest! I love this picture...so for each of her classmates I made this for them. I added flowers...what's a creation without flowers?? lol! I also added ribbon & bling for the girls. Taelyn wrote her thank you notes on that journaling piece w/ heart tab. I am very pleased with how this turned out!
here's another one...I have this cool program that can change my pictures around...it's called "gimp" and so with that I made the picture black and white w/ a tinge of color and faded the edges. doesn't this picture look like it's an antique? like back in the old western days or something. I love how this turned out. then I added my lovely crocheted lace & mini roses.
here's the ones I made for the boys...as there were only two of them. no flowers here and I just added some dew drops.
I hope you have a wonderful Thursday...it's ANOTHER furlough Friday for me. have a good one and as always I am so grateful for your comments and encouraging words. I really do appreciate it. till next time: Live and work, but do not forget to play, to have FUN in life and really enjoy it! ~Eileen Caddy

My mother's day gift...2010

Last month...at Teri's class we learned how to make this purse that can carry cards. It looked really hard...but when you actually put it together, it was pretty easy. I was determined to make another one for my mom...but when it was time to get down to it, I couldn't find the instructions! *panic* what to do...then I took the purse that I made at Teri's and started measuring. here's what mine came to be. I altered mine a bit...I made a closed pocket in the front, of course added my flowers and love that crocheted lace. I added that pearl brad and a computer generated sentiment.
once you open it up...it has two pockets where you can add your cards. I decided to make a few for my mom, so that she doesn't have to ask me every time...now she can have a stash =)
here's my first card...I used Izzy from TGF...she's too cute! can't finish the card without my signature...flowers and I also added bling and stickles. I used my cuttlebug embossing folder to do the backgrounds.
here's my second card...I used Madelynn for this one. I am loving all different colors of crocheted lace, this one I added flowers, pearl bling, MS border daisy fan punch and stickles.
here I wanted to make my cards a little more simple...had to add those cute mini prima roses, used SU sentiments and there you go!
I am so glad that my mom loved her gift. I know that it's the thought that counts but I made sure I added some gift cards in the front pocket =)
we are half way through the week! can't wait for another weekend!
