For a Beloved Mom...

so sad to say I had to go to a funeral this weekend for a dear sweet friend, who's mom passed away. I am very close to this family and it broke my heart when I heard the news. I know that hand made cards are so special, so with that I decided to make a couple different cards. I just got this sympathy stamp from Cute Stuff this past week...just in time for this card. I used the new stamps called vintage vogue from SU, added some ribbon and bling, layered some CS and used some pretty DP.
the second one is something that is not really your ordinary colors for a sympathy card. I used them to make the card brighter, but it ended up looking like Christmas colors, but I wanted the card to be more cheery and upbeat. I had this stamp a while ago...added some bling and made it simple.
what do you think? what are better colors to use when making a sympathy card? and should you keep your card simple or not? please let me know. thanks! hope you all had a great 3 day weekend for those of you who got to relax! I was blessed to be able to spend my holiday with a special and sweet group of ladies! I really had a blast!

Lady Rose Dragon...

So the other day...I went hunting for a tutorial on how to color hair and stumbled upon this blog...My Cardz, My Passion with a step by step tutorial on what she does to color hair...so I wanted to give it a try. I also found this beautiful image there called: Lady Rose Dragon by *Princess Elemmiriel* and she's a free image to download. So I did that too. Here is what she looked like once I finished coloring her. I didn't realize how much coloring/ink it takes to make images come to life! I totally fell in love with this one. I added some pearl bling to her dress...so pretty in pink.
so with that...I thought I would use her for my next OCS. I am so happy that I am paired up with 1LuvnMama...she does such beautiful creations and she really inspires me to do better creations and that I need to learn how to color...lol! I hope she receives it in the mail before she sees my post! any whoo...I decided to do another double shaker. sorry if you are tired of seeing these...but I really loved making this one and I think that this is the best one I have made by far. I loved the B&W and I used this perfect pearls powder with a mist sprayer (from my BFF) for the flowers and butterfly. it really gives a shimmery look. here's what I finally came up with...
I hope my OCS partner will love it as much as I do. I am so proud of what I made. I used lots of pink bling, stickles, prima flowers, my SU corner and border punch, MS butterfly punch and lots of microbeads, beads & dew drops for my shaker. Thank you for stopping by and leaving me comments...it really does lift my spirits! Have a beautiful Tuesday and enjoy!

I wanted to send this to a sweet lady I just met this weekend...she owns her own store in the Mililani Town Center. I hope she likes my double shaker! So much fun making this. love the new DP, corner and border punch from SU. I am still trying to figure out how to punch them together...*sigh*
